Fr. Louie Vitale to receive 2006 St. Thomas More Award

The St. Thomas More Society of San Francisco, “the oldest fellowship of Catholic lawyers and judges in the West,” has announced that its 2006 St. Thomas More Award recipient is Fr. Louie Vitale, OFM. The society presents the award “to one who exemplifies ideals of service and sacrifice in the pursuit of justice.” The award will be presented at the society’s annual Red Mass and dinner October 19, 2006. “Fr. Vitale is truly a remarkable person. His impressive service to his faith is inspirational and is truly an example of many of the ideals propounded by our patron St. Thomas More” says the society. Franciscan School of Theology, Berkeley CA: Please join the Franciscan School of Theology in celebrating the “Transitus” of St. Francis [the commemoration of his “passing over” to eternal life] on Tuesday evening, October 3, 2006 at 7:00 p.m., and a Mass to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis, Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 5:10 p.m. Each event will be held at the chapel of the Franciscan School of Theology, 1712 Euclid Ave., Berkeley, CA, 94709.
